FAQ -You've got questions, I've got answers
How long will this hair color last?
How long will this hair color last?
Not all hair color requires the same upkeep, which is something that I will discuss with you in detail at your consultation. That is the number two consideration in our game plan going in, the number one being if your hair is capable of doing what you're looking for. It is also the reason why I require a consultation before any chemical services so that everyone is on the same page with full disclosure and transparency about expectations and pricing before any appointments are made.

Does every appointment cost the same as the appointment before?
Does every appointment cost the same as the appointment before?
In general usually your first appointment is the most expensive because it takes the longest and requires the most intricate work. Typically appointments get less costly over time with the occasional more intricate appointment. If you have a budget I totally respect that, just let me know so I can make sure to fit you with the right maintenance level.
How do you decide your prices?
How do you decide your prices?
Pricing is built off many things. Obviously demand, but also consideration of continuous education, prior education, intricacy of the work being done, amount of time dedicated to the service, years of experience, all of the things that you would expect but it is also things you don't. We don't have paid vacation or sick time, we don't have overtime or holiday pay. We carry our own health, liability, dental, and vision insurance. We don't get a retirement or pension. We have to pay rent and utilities, and furnish our own tools and all of our products, including hair color and styling products. Being in charge of all of this is extensive, and the easiest thing for us as stylists to do to save money, is to reduce the quality of the products we use, stop taking classes, and stop taking vacation. But in the end the one who suffers the most from this is the client. That is why I am not cheap. I value my education, and the I know the value of my work. Work that I can only do with the best products, the best education, and the occasion escape to recharge!
What is your scheduling like? How do I set up an appointment?
What is your scheduling like? How do I set up an appointment?
I have never had, nor do I plan to ever have a fully set in stone hourly schedule. I work as much as I can. I vacation as much as I can. It's a total balancing act, which is part of my personal philosophy. I do on location work outside of the Studio. All of these things mean my days are long and packed at the studio. If you're looking for an appointment contact me as far out as possible, or pre-book for your next appointment when you're leaving your current one. Once my books reach a certain number of weeks out I will no longer accept new clients. Until that point, texting is the best way to get a hold of me, you can text anytime and I will get back to you ASAP. Consultations are required for all chemical services. We have to know what we are doing, how much it costs and how long it will take before we start for the best line of communication. If for any reason you need to cancel please give me as much time as necessary. If you no call, no show, more than once you will not be booked again. I know these all seem intense but they all happen and they are all a bummer for everyone. I believe that "clear is kind, and unclear is unkind", so I like establishing expectations and boundries right from the start. Thanks for understanding!
